FINDINGS

While there are about 3000 verses that contain variants in the Greek New Testament (GNT) that change the meaning of the text, the other 5200 verses are identical in all Greek sources, showing the traditional Received Text is faithful in this respect.

In our research, those 3000 verses that contain variants that change the meaning of a text, are virtually all doctrinal verses. As we stated earlier, this implies there were virtually no mistakes made, but these 3000 verses (using modern verse numbering) were changed to deliberately accommodate doctrinal changes, in particular to accommodate uniquely Catholic, Arian and Gnostic doctrines.

Ironically, if we view the changes the Catholics, Arians and Gnostics obviously made to change doctrine, and reverse all those changes, then we virtually have the traditional Received Text of the Stephanus GNT.

It is ironic, because backing the doctrinal changes out serves to prove the faithfulness of the 2000 year old, traditional Received Text GNT. And combined with the 4700 verses that are already in agreement in all GNTs, we have a lot of proof of the faithfulness of the traditional Received Text GNT, such as the Stephanus GNT.

While we have focused mainly on the New Testament, most all modern translations Old Testament are based on a Greek Old Testament known as the Septuagint (LXX). With a few simple proofs we show it is a forgery, and thus most modern translations to one degree or another are based on a forgery.  See Septuagint.

OPINION

It is enough to say, "Well the texts are such a mess, let us just 'eat, drink and be merry' and not give God any attention." After all, if it is God's Word, let Him demonstrate it to us. And in all honesty, some days, we as researchers, feel that way.

Despite the confusion multiple texts creates, there is the good news side of the situation, even with humans as authors, because they wrote under the inspiration of God, and so that we can have a faithful copy of God's Word, and that is that because "We walk by faith, not by sight." (2 Corinthians 5:7) "And we know that "without faith it is impossible to please Him" (Hebrews 11:6)

Thus if God is trusted to have  supernaturally produce scriptures, we would not be as trusting as we have been to human authors, albeit under the inspiration of God. And look at the children of Israel -- The Ten Commandments, carved supernaturally into stone by God, did not keep them from sinning horribly and did not make many of them have faith either.

What we do, is use our best knowledge to find the most faithful translations we can, and leave the rest up to God -- that via His Holy Spirit, He will guide our understanding and our walk with Him. And that is really, in truth, what it is all about, our walk with Him.

That said, we cannot ignore the admonitions from the scriptures themselves of the importance of the Word of God, that we "cannot live by bread alone" but we must consume "every Word of God."  This admonition alone, not to mention the many like it, tells us we cannot just accept as faithful every translation that is out there, especially in light of the 3300 verses with doctrinal variants.  We could suffer some kind of spiritual starvation without the accurate and faithful Hebrew and Greek sources, translated as accurately as possible into our own tongue.

Thus, we have endeavored in this website to give you some direction towards looking for and possessing God's Word, as faithful as possible.

In the simplest terms, we recommend you ignore translations derived from Hort and Westcott GNT, or their derivative GNTs (such as SBL), which is used in virtually all modern translations, and pray for God to show you which is the most faithful translation for you to use.

Now we recommend you use Bibles that are wholly from the traditional Received Text GNT, and in particular a traditional Received Text such as the Stephanus GNT.  

We have documented some recommended Bibles for you. And we have documented for you, the reader, why the traditional Received Text GNT is as faithful as it gets. After all, being in use continuously for a 2000 years bears strong witness to its faithfulness.  And there are over 150 languages in the world that have been derived from the traditional Received Text GNT. And more are coming out from time to time, such as the Jubilee 2000, or the German Schlachter 2000.

On the other hand, modern translations based on Hort and Westcott GNT have not been in widespread use for more than 45 years.  That alone make them unfaithful.

Finally, if you read a translation, and you somehow feel uncomfortable, like something is missing or something is wrong, look for the actual origin of your translation, and dig down into its true source texts, as it may say it is based on this or that GNT, and not tell you it is ultimately based on the Hort and Westcott GNT, at least to some degree or another.  So if it says it is based on the SBL or N-A GNTs, for example, well, they are based in significant part on the Hort and Westcott GNT, and we consider them unfaithful.

If you are faithful to God, God will be faithful to you, and lead you to a "faithful" translation.  If you only care about a translation because it is easy to read, then there is a good chance it is not a faithful translations, but created that way for marketing purposes!
